Non-revenue water reduction

The level of non-revenue water in Southeast Europe averages 55%. This means that more than half of the water that enters the water supply systems is lost due to leaks, faulty meters and water meters, due to errors in data processing, illegal and / or uninvoiced consumption.

The high level of non-revenue water is recognized by most experts and practitioners in the field of water supply as one of the key problems that has a significant impact on the operational sustainability of the public utility / water supply company (PUC). For many PUCs, this is a demanding task where they need the help of the private sector, which with its knowledge and experience can help them implement the necessary changes and achieve the necessary improvements.

Una Consulting is a national and regional leader in the segment of non-revenue water management because we cultivate an integral approach to this issue through a whole set of consulting services that includes:

  • Network mapping and establishment of GIS / AutoCad database,
  • Zoning of the entire water supply network - establishment of measuring zones, ie. DMA / PMA zone,
  • Implementation of measurement programs,
  • Non-revenue water management: fault detection, water balances, action plans to reduce non-revenue water, etc.,
  • Development of calibrated hydraulic models for detailed analysis and planning of water supply systems.

Our approach is based on conducting theoretical and practical training, providing on-the-job support to classic fault detection that PUCs cannot detect on their own.

With quality materials for training of PUC /staff, prepared procedures and state-of-the-art equipment for flow and pressure measurement and fault detection, Una Consulting is able to support PUC to effectively respond to financial sustainability challenges arising from lost revenue and increase operating costs due to large water losses in the system.
