Resource Centre and Consultancies for Water and Environment „Una Consulting“ LLC signed on 17 December 2021 the contracts with UNDP BiH on the continuation of consulting services for improving organizational, operation and financial capacities of public utility companies (PUCs) in the „north-western cluster“ which covers the Una Sana Canton and wider area of the Prijedor region and „north-eastern cluster) which covers the wider area of the Mostar and Trebinje region.
The activities of the contracts are part of the second phase of Municipal, Environmental and Economic Management Project – the MEG project, which is financed by the Swiss Government. The Swiss Government launched this project in 2016, with the aim of improving the municipal development management system and services in the environmental and economic sector. The objective of the assignment for which „Una Consulting“ Ltd. Bihac is engaged is to support strengthening of operational efficiency and financial management of PUCs in partner local self-government units (LGUs) in order for these LGUs to fulfil their obligations regarding the provision of water services respectively the water supply and wastewater collection and treatment services to their citizens.
The second phase of MEG project is implemented in 31 partner LGUs, and that are Bihać, Bosanska Krupa, Bosanski Petrovac, Busovača, Bužim, Čapljina, Čelinac, Čitluk, Doboj Istok, Gacko, Gradiška, Gračanica, Ilijaš, Istočno Novo Sarajevo, Laktaši, Ljubuški, Mostar, Mrkonjić Grad, Odžak, Orašje, Prijedor, Prnajvor, Sanski Most, Srbac, Šamac, Široki Brijeg,Tešanj, Teslić, Tomislavgrad, Trebinje and Žepče.
Una Consulting LLC has successfully finalized the implementation of activities that are part of one of the three components of the first phase of the MEG project by the end of 2020 that lasted for four years.
Una Consulting will continue to contribute to the development of the water and environment sector, meeting the challenges and finding solutions to the technical, institutional and financial aspects of public water supply businesses, with the aim of ensuring sustainable sustainability of providing quality services to local community residents.
